The DIRECTV SWM8 (SWM8R2-03) is a Single-Wire Multiswitch (SWM) designed to simplify satellite installations by allowing up to 8 satellite tuners to operate over a single RG6 coaxial cable. It eliminates the need to run multiple dedicated lines from the dish to each tuner, especially beneficial for DVRs that typically require two separate feeds.
Capacity: Supports up to 8 tuners (e.g., 8 standard receivers, 4 dual-tuner DVRs, or 1 Genie [5 tuners] + 3 additional tuners).
Inputs: Features 6 LNB inputs:
4 ports for standard 99°/101° and 103°/110°/119° satellites.
2 "Flex Ports" for integrating international dishes (95°/72.5°) or off-air antennas.
Outputs: Provides two SWM outputs and three Legacy ports for older, non-SWM-compatible receivers.
Housing: Rugged die-cast metal, suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.
